Morrissey dances with Morrissey *
Undecided on whether this is creepy or cute, but here is Morrissey on stage at the Fillmore in San Francisco dancing with a young kid called Morrissey, presumably named after the older crooner from Manchester and unofficial bard of Southern California gloom:
I'm feeling the emphatic arm flair. The Moz had ten shows planned this month at the Palladium in Hollywood before two got canceled earlier this week. Here's a slideshow from the opening night at LAWeekly.com. * Thanks, Alexis.
* An update: La Vibra, La Opinion's entertainment weekly, goes with a Morrissey cover today. On why Latinos love him so much, Moz muses: "The mainstream has always rejected me, and that must draw the attention of Latinos on some level, especially those who find themselves in a complicated [legal] situation. I don't know much on what's happening with the problem of immigration, but it looks difficult." (My translation of their translation.)
The very unease you feel with this video characterizes quite well how and why Morrissey is so amazing and enduring. He circumnavigates ways of being simultaneously. His lyrics are both sad and ironic. He's both masculine and feminine. There, dancing on stage in the video, he's both a nice guy and a pederast.

"Pederast?" What a horrible thing to say. Just because it's a bit of an awkward moment then it must mean that the guy likes to have sex with boys? An absolutely outrageous thing to say. Shame on you. You shouldn't throw around statements like that, statements that can do so much harm.

Ms. Marie, I don't think that was meant to be taken so literally. I think Adam is trying to make the point in a playful manner that it's an awkward moment, just as you said.
At least that's how I read the statement, to which i laughed and nodded in agreement.

Who needs someone outdated like Jesus when we have Morrissey?

Thanks, Chuy! Um yeah Ms. Marie. I made my point coming from an intimacy with Morrissey's body (hunky) of work. He toys with the notion of pederasty and queerness from from the first Smiths album on. You should listen to his music, because you obviously don't.

I was wondering the exact same thing about Latinos and Morrissey! Thanks for clarifying. I think I can breathe now.
