The Mexican emo riots in Flaunt magazine *

Anti emos
Not emo: Above, anti-emo youth at the Chopo street market.

If you're in L.A. or anywhere that sells it, the current issue of Flaunt magazine has a piece I wrote (in English) on the emo riots of spring 2008. It's part of the mag's "youth issue." Let me know how it looks. And big ups to Flaunt editor Andrew Pogany and to managing editor Lucy Kim.

* Previously, "Trying television: Mexico's emo riots on Current TV."

* BLOG NOTE: I've moved things around a bit here on Intersections. All my Typelists are now in alphabetical order. I've added a new one, "Listening," linking to sites and blogs where you can download or listen to music. (Personal tastes prevail.) I've also added a few separate pages linking to my work at the L.A. Times. Check 'em out.

I wouldn't even know where to find Flaunt, but there I was at a newsstand, drunk out of my box on bourbon and tequila, and found the magazine. Bought it and sobered up. Damn fine read, like everything you write!

SICK! Glad you liked it. Mexico City feels crazy tonight ... Let's see what happens.

hehe.. This page about emo girls is good too.
