A full Tuesday of fresh dissonance and schizophrenia on immigration. Starting before dawn, immigration raids in California netted hundreds from all over the world. At the same time, crops go unpicked because of the cold snap. But it wouldn't be the first time our vital agriculture industries face losses. Usually, it's for lack of enough workers. Japan is having the same problem: their solution is to bring in Brazilians. Immigrants, of course, are eager to spend their hard-earned dollars. So rarely a week goes by without a new "Hispanic" product hitting the market. This week, it's Potenica, an energy drink with the flavors Latinos "grew up loving." Delicious. To finish off the day, President Bush strengthened his credentials as a Reagan Republican by focusing on worker-friendly immigration reform during the State of the Union address. Are we back to the future already???
