"Operacion Repo" is one of the best new "reality TV" shows in a long time. It follows a band of vehicular bounty hunters who repossess cars after their owners default on payments. When the car owner comes storming out trying to figure out what the hell is going, they're hit with cameras and lights and microphones. What happens next is usually not pretty, but always highly entertaining. The show is officially in Spanish but much of the dialogue happens in raw, indigenous L.A. Spanglish. Losanjelous has an interesting interview up with the show's creator and producer Lou Pizarro:
Q: People, it seems, will do whatever it takes to be televised these days. And I believe “Operacion Repo” succeeds partly due to this phenomenon. Do people ever refuse to sign waivers allowing you to air their episode?
A: Sometimes, but for the most part they do not mind at all.
"Operacion Repo" airs weekday afternoons on Canal 22 Telemundo. Watch out with them angry cholos!
