Spotted this 'highly educational' video from the California High Speed Rail Authority depicting a pristine future where you could go from downtown L.A. to downtown San Diego at 220 mph in a comfy chair with seaside views. A trip that by car (and even AmTrak) can take up to three hours in the day-time would be 1 hour and 20 minutes. How's that magically possible? It's high-speed rail! And we need/want/deserve it, badly. From L.A. to S.F., "just over two and half hours, every time, regardless of weather." Sweet. The voiceover lady is really creepy, alluring, convincing, I'mgettingsleepy:
