Sike! 'La Cucaracha' revived

Aaaaand, it's back. A day after the news breaks, the L.A. Times announces the return of "La Cucaracha." Over the last day, I've heard from people who say the uncomfortable truth is the strip is sometimes not funny. Who can say what makes a strip funny or unfunny; "La Cucaracha" is valuable. It reflects a mindset -- that sarcastic Chicano humor -- sorely lacking in daily papers. Reminder: the prolific Lalo also brilliantly illustrated "Latino USA: A Cartoon History," and makes calendars of his best comics.
