Since I recently posted on one of her shows, it's worth noting this item at artbloggingLA on the upcoming move of REDCAT curator Eungie Joo. Joo, who earned a doctorate in ethnic studies at UC Berkeley, becomes curator at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York City this summer. This is a loss for public contemporary art in Los Angeles, as Joo's exhibits at REDCAT have been consistently satisfying and relevant to polyglot, postmodern, multicultural L.A. Joo has been at REDCAT since the complex opened. Here's the L.A. Times item on the announcement. The REDCAT press page has information on some of the shows Joo brought there. And here is an interview interview Joo did with noted L.A. artist Mark Bradford. Congratulations to her.
