That would be the famous Sinky, at Hop Louie, and he's back after a long absense at the little lounge in Chinatown. For who-knows-how-long, Sinky's bar patrons have been drawing him on drink napkins. Those foolish enough to think any old sketch will do quickly learn their lesson. Sinky might take one look at your drawing, grunt, frown, then toss your napkin in the trash. If he likes it, though, you can breath easy and proud. He'll add your drawing to his growing gallery. I had heard Sinky was sick, gone. When I saw him behind the bar over the weekend, we had a little exchange that went something like this:
Me: "You're back. You were gone."
Sinky: "Five months."
Me: "Wow. It's good you're back."
Sinky: "Not for long."
