Here are some thrilling clips of the Spencer Tunick photo shoot in Mexico City's vast Zocalo, commissioned by UNAM. It was the largest crowd of naked voluneers Tunick had ever shot. About 18,000 Mexicans bore their nude selves at sunrise on Sunday, before the Metropolitan Cathedral, an incredible feat in a country that in so many ways remains dour, classist, and rigidly Catholic.
Here are interviews with participants, who almost uniformly say the experience filled them with feelings of liberation, comraderie, freedom, and joy. It begins with a disabled man who participated in his wheelchair and ends with a couple of women who say the apparently spontaneous extra shoot for women only made them feel vulnerable to the watching men.
Another clip of lesser quality, in which you can hear the participants chanting in elation "Otra! Otra!" during the shoot. "Another! Another!"
Simply amazing. "Every third day or every Sunday," someone suggests.
