LAPD unleashes brute force on May Day march

LAPD fired rubber bullets indiscriminately and with little warning upon May Day marchers in MacArthur Park today, pushing and clubbing teens, seniors, and media with virtual abandon. I was at the rally, watched the police push back the crowd, and then attended an emergency press conference at the park with Chief Bratton. Reporters there were readably outraged. Some said colleagues were in hospital being treated for wounds after coming within the reach of a PD baton or rubber bullet.
